Functional Fixedness

Seeing only one way to use an object is Functional Fixedness.

A headset breaks and the angry employee forgets he can use his phone to make calls. 

 

Seeing only one way to make money is Functional Fixedness.

 

Seeing only one way to do anything is Funcitonal Fixedness. 

 

Independent thinkers are needed. As are obedient followers.

 

In fact each of us should be an excellent follower and a wonderful leader, finding ways to obey truth while discovering a wide variety of ways to accomplish goals.  

 

And creative, self-reliant, team-centered people can solve any problem.
