A well-meaning person said something (inadvertently) really wrong....to my wife. He asked her, "Aren't you glad that you're just a mother?"
Apparently he thinks men have larger responsibilities than women. My wife kindly explained her importance as a mother, underscoring her goodness and perhaps allowing the man to see the error of his ignorant remark.
A mother is an executive. A relentless optimist. A mother is loving, kind and resolute.
She often does much more with scarce resources than any "real" success.
She gives life, nurtures life and loves unconditionally. A mother sacrifices time and money to let others shine and grow.
Occasionally people aspire to be powerful business leaders, political leaders or famous authors.
But what could be of greater worth than helping people as a mother?
What matters most is mothers. Their impact is vital and lasting.
Eternally. Always. Forever.
Just a mother?
