Blessings don't come with feet. That's what I learned at Church this last week. (At least I think that's what was said. The service was in Spanish. Maybe he really said, "After the blessing, let's eat!")
I remember helping my dad repair apartments in Lyons, NY. The tenants survived on food stamps and welfare checks despite being able to work.
They had cable TV and food but they didn't know the blessings that come from work. That was frustrating to me because our family didn't have cable TV and we often had little food, but my parents worked 100 hours a week between jobs and college.
Sure the welfare family had some basic commodities to sustain life but they didn't have success. Success comes from work and self-reliance.
They definitely didn't have a feeling of significance. That comes from taking care of others.
Blessings don't come with feet. But people do.
It's time to rise up.
