As school started this year I determined to avoid the long lines of parents dropping children off at school. So when I dropped off my oldest child, I scouted for an alternative drop off point. Happily I considered my choice a good one. My choice involved a longer drive, but cost less time.
Then, today, my daughter showed me another option: a backstreet that allows a very close drop-off. And there was no other cars to tangle with!
How does this apply to getting frugal and free?
- Listen to your children
- Search for better ways
- Hunt for better quality, less effort
Frugal people aren't cheapskates who shop exclusively at K-mart, make their own clothes and walk 10 miles to work. Frugalicious people find great hope buying used, high-end products to create memorable experiences with invaluable people.
Buy what you want.
Just make sure you buy when you want, not when the marketers want you to buy.
