During college I developed quite a habit of eating out. The accumulated cost was high although it saved me valuable time.
Nowadays I usually brown bag lunch and eat breakfast and dinner at home. Lunch from home tastes better and costs less than fast food.
Nevertheless I occasionally eat fast food for lunch. When I eat out, it's with friends as we discuss business, sports, family, religion and politics.
So recently I chuckled as I thought of two lunch meetings.
One friend paid for my lunch at Taco Bell while we developed business ideas. Total cost for him was under $9! That's frugal.
Another friend bought us pizza at a buffet for $16. We talked about helping people and investments. That too was frugal.
The meals were free to me. Nice.
And the conversations were invaluable. Even better.
