Last week we took a brief trip to Las Vegas for a family reunion.
On the way there we visited the Hoover Dam. My wife and I hadn't been there in several years and it was the first time for our children.
In the parking lot we held a brief family discussion about what we wanted to see at the dam.
We could spend $120 for a family tour.
Or $48 to enter the visitor center.
Or we could roam the entire site for free.
We chose free.
We touched statues, took several pictures, and enjoyed the iconic Depression Era symbol...for free.
We had the money to buy a family package but the entire family felt a free visit suited our needs best.
