Outstanding results are often followed by disappointing results.
A baseball player signs a huge contract during a break-out season only to see his numbers regress toward the mean over the next five years.
Think A-Rod. His hits and batting average regressed substantially post-mega contract.
Why is it do hard to maintain excellence?
Apathy is often the culprit.
We assume that we have paid the price and now can coast for a while.
Enduring financial and familial greatness rests on not resting.
Daily determination to do what we know and to become better than our previous best is vital and rewarding.
Our lives should be ones of progression to the exceptional instead of regression to the mean.
