After playing with our children at a bounce house, we stopped by Little Caesars. My wife and I were famished and our children were ready to hijack the any food trucks in the vicinity.
My wife told me of the long lines and asked what we should do. I started to evaluate other pizza alternatives such as Papa Johns, but felt the wait would be even longer.
Then my wife suggested Wendys. I listened and we had our food in under 5 minutes. It was fast and our children enjoyed it.
As we waited in the drive-thru I realized that my wife's thinking was non-linear (pizza, or Wendys, or ___, or___). I thought linearly (pizza, pizza or pizza) and felt frustrated with a lengthy wait for pizza.
Often my wife offers similar non-linear, effective suggestions in finances and child-rearing.
I am glad God gave me a spouse who thinks different.
