The Spartans are emblazoned in history as disciplined, effective warriors.
They tormented the Athenians with their legendary warrior skills.
The adjective Spartan has come to mean "highly disciplined, frugal, and simple".
When I think of Spartan-like people in our day I think of two ladies.
One didn't cease training for a half marathon even when she became pregnant.
The other trains for marathons while raising a large family.
She began training for marathons while enduring unremitting migraines.*
Hard to imagine running 13-26 miles with morning sickness or migraines!
Their attitude of using daily discipline to accomplish a simple (but not easy)
task perfectly illustrates the character needed to get out of debt.
Frugal people consistently use a Spartan-like focus to pay off debt and attain goals.
They listen to their spouses to find flabby financial areas.
They study and compensate for their weaknesses.
They involve their entire family, especially children, in financial matters.
They train their children like the Spartans trained their future warriors
(early and often).
Daily Spartan-like disciplines create the foundation for legendary success.
Leave a legacy for your posterity to talk about because of your discipline.
In what way can you exercise more discipline today?
--------------------------------------------------------------------
*They both continue to exercise and reap the benefits fof discipline.
The one lady no longer has migraines and enjoys running
a few marathons a year and has even inspired many others
to increased discipline. Both are very fit and happy.
