Now that I am finished crying let me tell you what happened a few minutes ago.
A 59 year-old friend called to tell me he was diagnosed with cancer three weeks ago.
He said, "[he's] preparing for the worst and praying for the best."
He's helping his wife learn everything he has been doing in case he dies soon.
As we talked I kept thinking of when he bought his dream car three years ago .
He bought a low priced, vintage Corvette to drive around with his wife.
We talked about that car. He is very, very, very happy he bought it.
He used a Corvette to build memories with his spouse.
He retired a few years ago. He said he could have made 1/2 million
dollars since he has retired, but the money doesn't matter--service does.
He has spent several years with his family and serving his community.
Sounds like a great life formula:
Love people, pursue dreams, and seize every precious second.
Get your Corvette (dream) and use it to build memories.

I noticed that most people measure their goals and success through material possessions, like having their own cars or houses. But for me, it's all about how many lives they've touched and changed while fulfilling those dreams. That's a nice inspiring story to be shared to anyone.
