Debt is like...

the Bubonic plague.  It causes massive pain and kills very quickly.

Some may say debt is a tool, but it kills hope and causes massive burdens when compared to cash.

Debt's symptoms are:

• fear
• worry
• contention
• despair
• depression
• anger
• hate

  Sure, sometimes  debt can be used to start a business or to pay for education, but it feels much better to invest with cash. Many successful businesses and homes run on a cash only basis and it helps reduce their risk by allowing conservative risk instead of amplifying incorrect decisions.

  I admire Dave Ramsey for exhorting people to never get into debt. 

Just like the Bubonic plague people die quickly when they get infected with debt.  Avoid the plague and pay for everything in cash.
